Gulliver is limping. Worse than limping. He’s not putting his back foot down at all. I don’t know why. It didn’t happen while he was doing anything remarkable. He woke me up last night to tell me something was wrong. I’ve had cats and rodents my whole life. I’ve never experienced an animal coming to me to ask for help. But he does. He stops at the top of our stairs and asks to be carried down. He waits at the car for me to lift him in. And when I comfort him, he wags his tail and comforts me. When something happens to either one of us, it definitely feels like we’re in it together.

2 years ago I adopted Gulliver. It’s so appropriate that I get to celebrate that day on Thanksgiving every year. I’m so thankful for this warm little soul and the people that helped bring him to me: Di, Jeanne, and Nate, thank you.

Lady at the Park
She cooed and swooned over Gulliver. She said he should be in a Disney movie. Yes, I agreed, he could be. She said she could picture him on a raft going down the Mississippi with a red scarf around his neck.
“I think he would be doing something more cerebral, like solving a crime, or proving my innocence when I am wrongly accused. And the scarf would be green.” I corrected.
“And Mel Gibson could do the voiceover!” She cheered.
“Matthew Broderick.” I said losing patience.

Dog sitting Leroy, Luna, and Freddy. Gulliver got to be part of a pack! Look at his face! And a blurry tail, of course. I love that little guy. His happy is my happy.
